About the IIT Gandhinagar
History
IIT Gandhinagar was established in 2008 as part of the Government of India’s expansion of the IIT system.
Initially mentored by IIT Bombay, the institute began with a few engineering programmes and later expanded to include sciences and interdisciplinary disciplines.
The permanent campus at Palaj on the Sabarmati banks became fully operational by 2015.
